1. Overview

Zettly ("we", "us", "our") is a life companion app that helps people settling into a new country with local guides, an AI assistant, financial tools, and task tracking. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Zettly, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information we collect

• Account information: name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash) when you register or sign in with Google.
• Profile details: the city you live in, language preference, and onboarding answers you provide.
• Content you create: tasks, transactions, financial goals, remittance plans, chat messages with the assistant, and reviews you write.
• Location data: approximate city from your device or IP for localized content. Live location is only collected when you explicitly turn on location sharing, and only shared with people you choose.
• Usage data: which pages you visit and basic device information, used to improve the app.

3. How we use your information

• To provide personalized guides, briefings, and financial tools.
• To power the AI assistant's responses to your questions.
• To send weekly recap emails and optional notifications.
• To process premium subscriptions through our payment provider.
• To improve features, fix bugs, and keep the app secure.

4. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only as needed to operate the service: with our AI provider to generate assistant responses, our payment provider to process subscriptions, and our email provider to deliver recap messages. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

5. Data retention & deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the Profile page, which removes your personal content. Some records may be retained in backups for a limited period before they are permanently erased.

6. Your choices

You can update your profile, change your language, or turn off location sharing at any time in the app. You may request a copy of your data or ask us to delete it by emailing support@zettlyapp.com.

7. Security

We use encryption in transit and at rest, restrict access to authorized team members, and review our systems regularly. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard safeguards.

8. Children's privacy

Zettly is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided data to us, contact support@zettlyapp.com and we will remove it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We will note the "Last updated" date above and notify you of material changes within the app or by email.
